Pool Haiku

I woke up at 12:30 am and couldn’t get back to sleep for a couple hours.  How do you remedy insomnia?  In a vain attempt to exhaust my hyperactive brain, and being the incorrigible pool junkie that I am, I started to think up pool related Haiku.  Yeah, that’s right.  Counting sheep never worked for me.  I guess you could say I’m a traditionalist, as I think all English based Haiku should have 17 syllables and conform to a 5-7-5 sentence structure.  Regardless, here goes my first installment of Pool Haiku:

———————–

Looking for action
two to one against the ghost
anybody in?

———————–

Lagging for the break
Forgot to chalk and miscued
Not a good omen

———————–

Kid gives me the eight
breaks and runs seven racks straight
damn that little punk!

———————–

Sweating in my chair
Dave misses an easy Nine
Have I been hustled?
