I had an opportunity to try out my new pool shooting shoes during a practice session this week, and I’ve got mixed feelings about their effectiveness and overall performance. Here’s my analysis:
Pros: The shoes are very comfortable. They have excellent traction on carpet; much better than normal shoes. No concerns about stability or slippage if you are doing break shots. They also make you feel like you’re doing something to improve your game.
Cons: They probably aren’t doing anything to improve your game. I will say, however, that I broke and ran a rack of 8ball immediately after putting them on. Coincidence? Probably. Other Cons: My primary purpose in buying them was to keep my feet cool. They did not deliver on that parameter, and in fact were no cooler than my normal shoes. They were also hard to put on…especially my pinky toes, which fought me for a couple minutes, refusing to go where they were supposed to go.
In fairness, the manufacturer does say that it takes about a week for your feet to get accustomed to the new shoe design. Will I wear them again? Sure. The experience was not bad, just not quite what I was looking for. I give them another try this week and see what happens.
i don’t know why but u look like you’re scuba diving with those shoes!! 😀 😛
I agree! Looks like something out of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! 😉
I would still look like a J-Bird in those things. Maybe if I was 20 or 30.
What are those shoes called? I seen a girl in a pool tourney taht was wearing them. I want some
Hi Rosemary, I bought the shoes at an outdoor sporting goods store called REI. For more info on the shoes, check out this website:
