Mad Max Wins Again

Mountain View, CA – Max Eberle withstood a very strong showing by Amar Kang to take first place in the California Pool Players Tour (CPPT) inaugural event and claimed the top prize of $1,000.  Finishing runner up was Amar Kang of Sacramento, who pocketed $500.

The CPPT was established in 2010 to promote the sport of pocket billiards in California.  According to their website, the CPPT fills the gap between amateur and professional levels, drawing players from both spheres and in-between. Northern and Central California has a tremendous number of pool players and enthusiasts, as evidenced by participation numbers at major events such as the BCA in Las Vegas, the Reno Bar Table and Pro Am, and the many memorial tournaments held in the area. It is CPPT’s mission to provide an ongoing tour that not only covers this region, but one that is set to spread throughout the state of California and beyond.

There are currently five stops on the tour:
Stop#1: June 12-13 at California Billiard Club in Mountain View, CA
Stop #2: July 17-18 at Break Time Billiards in Modesto, CA
Stop #3: August 14-15 at Surf City Billiards in Santa Cruz, CA
Stop #4: September 25-26 at Family Billiards in San Francisco, CA
Stop #5: October 9-10 at Surf City Billiards in Santa Cruz, CA

The Tour’s Regional Championships will be held November 13-14 at California Billiard Club in Mountain View, CA.  For more information on the tour, please visit the CPPT website or visit them on Facebook.
